Super Junior: We will give our best performance in Asian Games closing ceremony

In a celebration of sporting achievement, the 2018 Asian Games closing ceremony on Sunday will showcase not only Indonesian talents, but also Korean pop sensations iKon and Super Junior.

PRESS RELEASE

Jakarta, 1/9 - The Indonesian Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASGOC) had the opportunity to exclusively interview members of Super Junior, who will perform in the 2018 Asian Games closing ceremony at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium.

After greeting the INASGOC media and public relations team with apa kabar? (how are you?), the members of Super Junior revealed their initial reaction upon receiving an invitation to perform at the closing ceremony.

"Honestly, I and the other members felt shocked, happy and honored to be one of the performers in the 2018 Asian Games closing ceremony alongside other artists," said Leeteuk, Super Junior’s leader.

At the closing ceremony, Super Junior will share the stage with top Indonesian talents, such as Afgan, DJ Winky Wiryawan, RAN, Bunga Citra Lestari, Dira Sugandi and Isyana Saraswati.

"Korea (KOR) hosted the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, and now the 2018 Asian Games are held in Jakarta and Palembang. It is interesting and exciting,” Leeteuk said, noting that many Korean athletes had competed in the two cities.

Siwon, meanwhile, shared his thoughts on “Energy of Asia”, the 2018 Asian Games slogan.

"I now understand the meaning of the slogan. Asia represents energy. In my opinion, Indonesia made the right choice. The slogan is very cool. Giving energy is very important,” said Siwon, who recently posted a photo with "Energy of Asia" in the caption on his social media account.

The members of Super Junior said they were particularly proud of the Korean men’s soccer team, who won the Asian Games gold medal after defeating Japan in the final.

"The gold medal win in the men’s soccer makes us proud. We will also give our best performance in the 2018 Asian Games closing ceremony, "said Leeteuk, whose real name is Park Jung-soo.

At the end of the interview, Super Junior talked about Indonesian food.

Super Junior’s members – Shindong, Eunhyuk, Leeteuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Yesung, all mentioned nasi goreng (fried rice) and mie goreng (fried noodles) are their favorite Indonesian dishes. Leeteuk even admitted that he could eat them all day.

Super Junior closed the interview by saying terima kasih (thank you) to the INASGOC media and public relations team.
