RI jujitsu athletes fail to advance to semifinal
Jakarta, 24/8 (Antara) - Indonesia jujitsu athlete in the 69-kilogram class event Julius Saputera failed to advance to the quarterfinal after suffering a defeat at the hands of Ghaleb Alharahshehof Jordan at the Jakarta Covention Center on Friday.
Julius ceded with a score of 0-10 for Alharahsheh, who constantly put pressure on Julius from the start of the match.
Julius passed the preliminary round after defeating Thailand's Ratcharat Yimprai.
Another Indonesia jujitsu athlete, Ikhsan Ananda Mauludy, ended his Asian Games journey prematurely after conceding to Kazakhstan's Konyssov Kuandyk in the men’s 56 kg class event.
Meanwhile, Indonesia jujitsu athlete Savitri competed in the women’s 49 kg class event, but failed to advance to the quarterfinal following her defeat to Jenna Kaila Napolis of the Philippines.
The jujitsu competition run from Aug. 24 until 26 at the Jakarta Convention Center's Assembly Hall.
The Indonesian Jujitsu Sports Federation (FOJI) had set a target of one gold, one silver and two bronzes.
