Japan finishes first in 50km race walk
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Katsuki Hayato added to Japan’s gold medal tally after finishing first in the 50-kilometer men's race walk around the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Jakarta, Thursday morning.
Katsuki completed the race in 4 hours, 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
Following the Japanese athlete was China’s silver medalist Wang Qin, who clocked in at 4 hours, 6 minutes and 48 seconds.
Republic of Korea athlete Joo Hyun-myeong took the bronze with a time of 4 hours, 10 minutes, 21 seconds.
Two athletes, Park Chil-sung of Korea and Sandeep Kumar of India, were disqualified from the race.
The race started from the GBK Madya Stadium and passed through the traffic intersection of the Senayan Shooting Range, the Senayan Golf Course and finished at the GBK Madya Stadium.
